Tongji China
Tongji University and WTT-FHS set up this corporate consulting project program entitled "Consulting Project China" in 2007. A mixed project team consisting of three School of Economics and Management (SEM), Tongji University and three Management Department students at FHS St. Gallen work on a corporate project for a company in Shanghai.
Tongji University is one of the most prestigious universities in the People's Republic of China. As a main focus university, it falls under the Chinese Ministry of Education and is one of the 33 universities which, according to the state education program ‘985’, should be established as a world-famous university.
The university now registers over 54,000 students at all levels from Certificate and Diploma courses to Bachelor's Degrees, Masters and PhD programs. There are over 4,800 faculty and research academic staff, including 6 members of the Chinese Academy of Science, 7 members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, over 710 professors and 1,500 associate professors. The university offers diverse courses with its 82 Bachelor degrees, 218 Masters and 94 PhD programs. As one of the state leading centers for scientific research, the university has 22 state key laboratories and engineering research centers.
The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress approved the nomination of the university president Prof. Wan Gang on April 27th, 2007 as Minister of Science and Technology.
WTT-FHS cooperates with the School of Economics and Management (SEM) which has about 5,000 students at all academic levels. Between 2008 and 2009, projects with the Chinese subsidiaries of Schindler, Geberit and Sonova (Phonak) were undertaken.
